He intended to quit after the project was done, but his boss beat him to it. “It was hell,” he recalls, having to work until 5 a.m. His first project, he remembers, was a competitive quiz game for Nintendo’s Gameboy. I'll update the OP with the demo when it's posted, but what do you guys think of such efforts? Excited for the release? Disappointed because it's clearly a fan game made from scratch rather than some restoration project? How interested are you in 3.Below, Mikami talks about his start, the beginning of the survival horror genre, why he left Capcom and started Tango, what he wants to do in the future and why he might not be done directing just yet. So I'm making this topic a bit prematurely, as the demo isn't supposed to hit for another 7-9 hours or so, but I'm very excited for this. I'll update the OP with the demo when it's posted, but what do you guys think of such efforts? Excited for the release? Disappointed because it's clearly a fan game made from scratch rather than some restoration project? How interested are you in 3.5 in general (been interested in it, first time hearing about it?), and do you think this is an interesting way to get something playable out of it even if unofficial? RE3.5 has always been deeply fascinating to me, and I appreciate efforts to try to make something even just inspired by it, but it seems to be coming along nicely all things considered. This either will be all they'll release, or if the project can garner some attention, if there's demand for them to continue this and they can have a few more people hop aboard to help work on it (they're apparently in need of a few roles they've been stretched thin to do), either way they release what they had and there's something out there for their work, or best case scenario the project gets more attention and they're able to get some new hands on deck to see this project grow. Part of the reason they're releasing a demo now is since it's about a year into development, and they want to put out there what they have. The goal of the project is to recreate what was shown off and known about the prototype of RE4's Hookman Version, but not be 100% accurate as they do things such as fill in gaps of known information and of course work with what they can as a non-profit small team. They've been mostly quiet about it but have been releasing videos of their progress, which you can find here on this YouTube playlist:Īnyways, the main guy behind the project announced a few hours ago they're going to release a demo of their project in 12 hours (which is about 7-9 hours now).
